Release US Journalists Jailed By North Korea

The Foreign Correspondents’ Club of China condemns the 12-year prison sentence handed down by a North Korean court against two U.S. journalists yesterday.

Laura Ling and Euna Lee of San Francisco-based Current TV were convicted of illegal entry and hostile acts. The two women were seized by North Korean border guards in March while they were filming along the Chinese-North Korean border. A cameraman and a guide escaped.

The FCCC calls on the government in Pyongyang and all involved parties to secure their immediate release.
