Things to remember in November
No doubt, you, dear FCCC member, have been wondering just what is the point of the month of November in Beijing – those 31 non-descript neither-cold-nor-warm days in between gut-busting Moon Cake Season and the symbol of failed capitalism, Christmas decadence.
Wonder no more. November is chocker-block with important happenings, including The Leonids meteor shower which reaches its peak around Nov 17, Latvian Independence day on Nov 18 and it was on Nov 19th in 1493 that Christopher Columbus discovered the Eastern World aka Puerto Rico (lost wayfarer that he often was).
None of these memorable dates are as vital to your Beijing existence, however, than the FCCC Happy Hour on November 4th at the Bookworm.
Then and there you can achieve any number of wonderful Novermberish things, such as buy tickets for the FCCC Xmas Party, avoid the New Year rush and renew you FCCC membership early - plus of course discuss over the usual discounted drinks the importance of the month’s birth flower, the chrysanthemum.
See you there!
