(The inaugural FCCC city walk in search of the Northern Capital’s glorious history… or what’s left of it)
Join us for the first FCCC city walk of a different kind: you’ll discover Beijing’s fascinating history with just a little help from your “friends”, who will supply you with lots of background information but also devise a number of tasks and challenges, so that it won’t all be too easy.
In the first “Discover It Yourself” event we’ll explore former residences of the most celebrated Beijing Opera performers, find the offices of Beijing’s first independent newspaper (surprisingly, now defunct…) and learn many other interesting things about good ol’ Beijing.
We’d like to make the walk not only informative, but also competitive, so we’ll have several teams and plenty of tasks/questions each will need to fulfill/answer while walking the prescribed route through the hutongs. The best team will be awarded a number of honorific titles and (maybe) some awards.
You can register as a team of 3-5 people (including at least one able to read Chinese characters) or an individual to be assigned a team by the FCCC.
